Who we are

AI Shorties is run by Himesh Modasiya, trading as AI Shorties, United Kingdom. We are the “controller” of the personal information described below. Contact: admin@aishorties.net.

The short version

• The AI Shorties app does not collect personal information. Your videos and transcripts are processed on your computer and are never sent to us.
• When you buy, we receive your email address and order details so we can send your licence key and help you. We never see your card details.
• We do not use advertising or analytics cookies or trackers on this website.

What we collect and why

When you buy a licence

Stripe (through Link) takes your payment and collects your name, email, billing details and payment information under its own privacy notice. We receive from Stripe your email address, your name if provided, and your order reference. We use these to:

• email you your licence key (to perform our contract with you);
• record which key was sent to which order, so we can support you and handle refunds (our legitimate interest in running the business, and to perform the contract);
• keep the records we need for accounting and legal obligations.

When you email us

We keep your message and our replies so we can help you (legitimate interests).

When you visit this website

Our website is delivered through Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare and we may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs for security and to keep the site working. We do not set cookies for tracking.

When the app checks for updates

When AI Shorties starts it requests a small file (aishorties.net/version.json) to see whether a newer version is available. Our server receives your IP address and the app version number, as for any web request. We do not use this to identify you.

Downloads inside the app and installer

The installer and the app download speech-recognition and face-detection models and caption fonts from Hugging Face and GitHub. Those services can see your IP address, as with any web download. We do not send them any of your videos or personal data.

Who we share it with

• Stripe: payment processing and seller of record.
• Cloudflare: website hosting and the system that fulfils orders and stores the key-to-order record.
• Resend: sends the licence-key email.

We do not sell your information or use it for marketing. Some of these providers process data outside the UK; where they do, they use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

Order and licence records are kept for as long as needed to support your licence and for up to 6 years for accounting and legal purposes. Support emails are kept for up to 2 years after we last spoke.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it (where we are not required to keep it), to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Email admin@aishorties.net. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change this notice we will update the date above.
